Terms of Service

The rules and conditions for using SecurityScore.me breach checks and monitoring.

Please Read These Terms Carefully

By using SecurityScore.me, you agree to these Terms of Service. They describe your rights and responsibilities when using our security scanning tools and related features.

This document works together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, services, and applications provided by SecurityScore.me ("SecurityScore.me", "we", "our", "us").

By accessing or using SecurityScore.me, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

2. Service Description

SecurityScore.me provides one-time email breach checks and, for paid plans, scheduled re-checks and email alerts when new breaches are added for your monitored emails. We use Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) breach data only.

Intended use

For individuals and organizations who want to know if an email has appeared in known breaches and to receive breach lists, dates, and next-step guidance.

No passwords

We do not store passwords. We do not read your inbox. We only perform email breach lookups using HIBP data.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

By using SecurityScore.me, you represent that you are at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements under the laws that apply to you.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to use SecurityScore.me only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the service to check email addresses that you do not own or are not authorized to use.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts.

5. Plans, Billing and Payment

Certain features of SecurityScore.me may be offered as paid plans or subscriptions.

When you subscribe to a paid plan, you authorize us or our payment processor to charge the applicable fees using your chosen payment method.

Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal. You may cancel at any time via your account or by contacting us.

Prices and features may change over time. We will notify you of material changes in advance where required by law.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers for breach data, hosting, email delivery, and payments.

  • • For breach checks we use the Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) API, subject to HIBP's terms and privacy policy.
  • • For spam and abuse prevention, we may use Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party services, but we take reasonable care when selecting them.

SecurityScore.me is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

  • • The service is informational only. We do not guarantee detection of every breach or that breach data is complete or up to date.
  • • We do not provide legal, professional, or financial advice.
  • • We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
